About Plymouth
Backing up to the Coolidge State Forest, just south of Highway 4, the picturesque town of Plymouth is a wonderful place to live. With fewer than 700 residents, this town is nestled in the midst of the wild Vermont landscape. Plymouth is an idyllic community where neighbors really know each other. During the summers, residents splash in Echo and Amherst Lakes; in the winter, you can ski or stay in and watch the snow fall on the pristine landscape. Whatever you prefer, Plymouth may be the perfect place for you to call home.

Plymouth Entertainment
There are a handful of snowmobile tour companies and other wintertime attractions right in Plymouth, but there are plenty of things to do during the rest of the year, as well. The President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site is located here (this is where President Coolidge was born, was sworn in as president and is buried, as well). The Plymouth Notch Historic District is a spectacular place to visit; it’s a bowl-shaped valley in the Green Mountains spanning about 2,600 acres. It includes the Coolidge Homestead, the Plymouth General Store (owned by President Coolidge’s father, Colonel John Coolidge) and the Wilder House. There are a number of other notable homes, the old Plymouth Church and so many more things to see in the Plymouth Notch Historic District, as well.
Plymouth Dining and Shopping
There are a handful of restaurants located in Plymouth, including those that are part of the resort hotels. However, many residents travel to nearby towns, such as Ludlow, Killington and Woodstock, for more dining options. Although there are ski shops and the famous Plymouth Artisan Cheese shop in town, and we have a few grocery stores, many people also travel to Ludlow to do more in-depth shopping. Because the neighboring towns are all close, it’s easy to travel between them for dining, shopping and entertainment.
Plymouth Schools
Kids living in Plymouth are part of the Plymouth School District of Windsor County. Many local students are part of a school-of-choice program, and the options include Woodstock and Ludlow schools.
Ski Areas Near Plymouth
Plymouth is centrally located between the Okemo Mountain Resort and the Killington Resort, so local residents are always close to the action when ski season begins. Snowmobiling is a popular pastime among locals, as well; the biggest (and best) trail in the area runs right through the community.
Plymouth Parks and Recreation
Enjoy the beach and water activities at Camp Plymouth State Park. There are boat landings available at Echo Lake where you can put in your own boat or rent one at the park.
